Running the composting project in the winter months is a perpetual test of our coping skills. We’re constantly trying to figure out how to bike around town in the shortest amount of time possible. Another challenge is cleaning out everyone’s compost bucket without our water freezing! Most importantly, winter is about figuring out what to do with all of this frozen, rotting food.
Now that summer is here, we’re feeling a bit more adventurous! The compost piles are steaming again, and the bike rides are very enjoyable!
So, we’ve decided that we’d like to increase the number of households participating in our composting project. In July, the Community Composting Project turns two years old!
If you would like to join the Community Composting Project, you may sign up on our website, or call us at 507-645-8706. Or, if you are currently a composting member, and know someone interested, simply place that person our household’s Name, Phone number, and address on a piece of paper, and stick it in the envelope on top of your bucket! We will be happy to provide them with their very own composting bucket!
